The Body Bloom gym is something I’ve dreamed about for years. As I’d push
through a hard rep at a local gym or watch my clients crush their personalized
program, I never felt quite at home and would fantasize about creating a space for this
community that fully encompasses the Body Bloom mission. There’s an old idea that
states if you can’t find what you need, then you must create it, so that is what I’ve
decided to do.
Admittedly, structuring and remodeling a space to transform into the gym of our
dreams during a global pandemic is not the ideal circumstance. Still, I can’t help but
draw the parallels between this space, this pandemic, and our journeys, both in and
out of the gym.
Stay-at-home orders have stripped us down to the essentials, much like an
emptied building. Without access to our usual distractions, we’re back to our bare
bones, our roots—and maybe you don’t like everything you see. Like the gym, perhaps
you’ve got some walls to tear down and cracks to fill, and that’s okay. It is a beautiful
gift. Resilience, perseverance, and badassery are not born when things are
comfortable. You find your power when you push past your circumstances and refuse
to give up.
It’s time to get scrappy, get our hands dirty, and tap into our strength. If the
Body Bloom gym before pictures do anything for you, I hope they’ll serve as a slice of
inspiration. Too often, people get hung up on the “after,” but it’s the “during” where we
transform.
We are hard at work on the “during” to create a second home for the entire
Body Bloom community. A place where you can tear down walls, fill cracks, and
discover the warrior within you. Is it a challenge during a global pandemic? Sure. But in
the words of five-time Olympic gold medalist Nadia Comaneci, “I don’t run away from a
challenge because I am afraid. Instead, I run toward it because the only way to escape
fear is to trample it beneath your feet.”
Time to get to work!
