Elizabeth’s Favorite Afternoon Smoothie Recipe

When it comes to food, I like to keep things simple. My days are usually filled with clients and meetings, along with my own training sessions, so fussing over intricate recipes doesn’t fit into a typical day for me. There’s a common misconception that if you’re not slaving away in the kitchen for hours, then you’re probably eating nothing but carrot sticks or microwavable tray dinners, but that simply is not the case. Food can wow your tastebuds and fuel your body without being time-consuming, bland, or filled with a giant list of ingredients.

When I’m on-the-go, I love to whip up something quick and satisfying before heading out the door. If you’re busy like me and looking for an afternoon pick-me-up that’s short on time and big on flavor, I’ve got you covered with this delicious smoothie recipe.

Elizabeth’s Favorite Afternoon Smoothie Recipe

          • One scoop of protein powder (any type you’d like)
          • 160 grams of frozen strawberries
          • 1-2 tbsp of PB2 powder
          • Water to desired consistency
          • Optional splash of milk

Don’t let its simplicity fool you. This smoothie not only tastes fantastic, but is packed with protein, fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants. I could drink this one every day and never grow tired of it, so I know you will enjoy it too. Be sure to let me know in the comments below if you try it out. And if you’re in a recipe rut, keep an eye out for the upcoming Body Bloom cookbook, which will be launching very soon!
